RAOS Project Oy, a subsidiary of Rosatom, is the plant supplier of Fennovoima’s Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant. Power plant units will be built on the Hanhikivi peninsula in Pyhäjoki, with a thermal power of 3 220 megawatts and 1 200 megawatts of electric power, in addition to all the other facilities required to operate them. The nuclear power plant will be completed in 2024. The project will increase employment and improve the purchasing power of Finnish households for decades to come.

Rolls-Royce to supply Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant’s main automation

Yesterday, Hanhikivi-1 project took a step forward as British Rolls-Royce and French Schneider Electric were chosen as preferred automation suppliers subject to the final contract negotiations. Rolls-Royce would be the main supplier and provide the protection automation. Schneider Electric would be the operational I&C systems supplier. The deal – worth hundreds of millions of euros – includes both the design and delivery of automation systems.

Oil spill prevention drill in Hanhikivi peninsula

The participants to the Hanhikivi 1 project and the authorities will organize an oil spill prevention drill off the Hanhikivi peninsula. In addition to Fennovoima, RAOS Project and Titan-2, today’s joint drill will be participated by Terramare, Securitas, the Jokilaakso Rescue Department, the Finnish Environment Institute, and the North Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.

Dredging and water construction work on the coast of Hanhikivi headland continues after the winter break. The work, contracted by Titan-2, which is the main contractor of the plant supplier RAOS Project, is being carried out by Terramare Oy.
